Data provided by Jobsplus for October 2018 indicate a decline of 527 persons registering under Part I and a decrease of 2 among those registering under Part II of the unemployment register, when compared to the same month last year. Registered unemployed dropped among all age groups.
Registrants for work decreased when compared to October 2017, irrespective of how long they had been registering for work. The largest decrease in registrants was recorded among persons who had been registering for more than one year.
The number of persons with a disability who were registering for work decreased by 63 persons when compared to the previous year, reaching 232. Men accounted for 72.0 per cent of total registrants with a disability.
The largest share of men and women on the unemployment register sought occupations as clerical support workers with 17.9 per cent and 41.3 per cent respectively .
The registered unemployment rate in June 2018 stood at 0.9 per cent of the labour supply, (excluding part-time employment); 1.0 per cent for men and 0.6 per cent for women
