JAYE Malta & HSBC opportunity for 12-16 year olds

The current COVID crisis has shaken us and pushed our limits to innovate and become more technology driven and financially aware. For some this might have been an easy transition however for others it might have introduced a steep learning curve in a short amount of time!

At Junior Achievement this has motivated us and showed us how relevant our work is and triggered increased collaboration and collective learning on a global level. We are now looking for participants to be part of a new recently launched movement.

JAYE Malta is looking for youths aged 12-16 to be part of an International Pilot Project for HSBC – Building a Financially Capable Generation

Junior Achievement Worldwide is collaborating with HSBC on a global project to increase financial literacy amongst young people.

Building a financially capable generation connects students globally showing them that increasing their knowledge, skills and experiences with money promotes self-confidence and relationships (in person and online) that support financial capability and personal resiliency.

JAYE Malta is looking for 500 young people between the ages of 12 to 16 to participate, play and test the latest digital learning experience that JA Worldwide is launching! This platform makes use of simulation learning and gamification to provide a game-based learning space.

The objective of the project is for our youth to build a strong foundation for sound financial behaviour thereby ensuring critical future financial wellness. The project aims to help students to:

  • See the value in managing money proactively
  • Identify what is needed to make appropriate money management decisions and act on them
  • Acquire the skills to turn knowledge into practice
  • Believe and have confidence that youth can act according to their interests
  • Evaluate barriers to active money management

The first part of the project consists of a Financial Capability App with four 40mins to 1 hour sessions (Quests) which are volunteer-led.
